Here are some highlights from the Better Marriages Conference: Educating Couples – Building Relationships:
- The Conference was truly a celebration of love for pre-married couples, newlywed couples and long-time married couples. Couples of all ages and stages of relationship developed new skills to take their relationships to the next level.
- The Conference provided an important networking opportunity for couples and the professionals who serve them – marriage educators, therapists, authors, and relationship coaches.
- More than 40 workshops were offered specifically for couples wanting to grow their relationship. Topics ranged from finances to sexuality to conflict.
- CEUs were offered for professionals needing continuing education. Professional training offered ranged from working with military families to remarriage preparation and stepfamily living to teach-out-of-the-box certification programs.
- Each evening we invited local couples to participate, resulting in our ability to impact additional couples, to broaden the demographic we serve, and to leave our footprint in Raleigh.
- The Conference was a media-rich event, generating interest and enthusiasm among local newspapers, radio and television.
- The Governor of North Carolina issued a proclamation declaring July 11, 2011 “Better Marriages Day” throughout the state. Read the proclamation here.
- Our local partner organization, Family Resource Center of Raleigh, will follow up with programs for couples and families. Read more about the Center here.
